Samaritan’s Purse is providing critical relief to Dallas, Texas families after three tornadoes simultaneously struck the community—leaving a 16-mile path of debris and destroying hundreds of homes. After helping more than 160 families return home following Tropical Storm Imelda, a disaster relief unit stocked with tools and relief supplies was deployed to the affected area to aid impacted families.
“Hundreds of Dallas families lost their homes and years of precious memories in a matter of seconds,” said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan's Purse. “Please pray for our teams on the ground as they help families recover while reminding them of the true hope of Jesus Christ.”
Gateway Bible Church of Dallas, pastored by Rev. Robert Morris, is serving as a base of operations for volunteers to go out into hard-hit communities and help hurting families clear debris, remove downed trees, tarp roofs and salvage personal belongings. Local volunteers interested in serving their community are invited to attend a brief orientation at 7:30am or 12:30pm daily or call 469-584-1413 for more information.
