This spring is proving to be difficult for thousands of U.S. families as severe weather systems continue to tear through the country. Hundreds of tornadoes and widespread flooding have left death and injury in their wake, as well as devastation to homes, schools, and businesses.
Samaritan’s Purse staff and volunteers are already on the ground in Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Oklahoma. An assessment team is in Kansas as well after tornadoes ripped up the northeastern part of the state on Tuesday night, May 28.
<!-- “For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake”—2 Corinthians 4:5, NIV-->In Michigan, our teams are mudding out homes throughout the Detroit metropolitan area that were hard-hit by flooding after nearly four inches of rain fell in just a few hours. We're also responding to severe flooding in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area.
In both Jefferson City, Missouri, and Dayton, Ohio, we have deployed in the wake of recent tornadoes. We are helping homeowners salvage belongings, tarp damaged roofs, and cut through downed trees.
Please pray for the people suffering in the aftermath of these terrible storms. Pray for our teams as they serve in Jesus’ Name and demonstrate His love and compassion.
